I have a firm belief  that music is for everyone. Do I expect every student to become a Broadway Star, the next one to play on the radio every day, or the next great composer? Absolutely not!

I want people to listen critically and appreciate, whether they like it or not. This is the entire premise of my studio name: "Stars and Wishes". When we listen to music, we can absolutely hate it, and think we have absolutely zero stars at all. That is just not true.  We can appreciate the work and the talent that went into it.

Personally, I do not like rap music. BUT - I cannot say - "Rap music is terrible and it should not exist!".  I can give a star and a wish. My star for rap - You can talk and sing so fast! My wish - I wish there was more melody, give it a line to better rap along to.  Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it shouldn't exist.

If you're here from social media looking for an answer - Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it shouldn't exist. There is <.1% of times of no stars. There is <.1% of times of no wishes. And then post your favorite sticker/gif of your favorite animal on that post.

I want to share the ability to create music, express emotions in ways words can't. When someone gets into a song and you get the chills, or you feel a little feeling that's been hiding in your brain, that is what I want.

Music for the brain is a great thing. Below is a TED video all about how music affects the brain. It is good for you.

Even if I help someone listen to the radio better, sing in the congregation at church a little nicer, or give someone a break from craziness of life to experience music, I will be satisfied. Come experience music with me!
